AIR CALÉDONIE SIGNS ITS FIRST COMPANY-WIDE AGREEMENTS IN 19 YEARS - January 2014 / Janvier 2014

After taking time to exchange views on the challenges facing the company, its strengths and weaknesses and exposure, particularly in economic terms, and on conserving the employee benefits gained over decades of disputes, the unions began to engage in a real negotiation process - the general definition and drafting of future agreements.

As a result, 4 company-wide agreements were concluded in late January 2014 (one for ground staff, one for cabin crews, one for flight crews and a profit-sharing agreement.) These agreements incorporate a number of innovations, including: profit-sharing not based solely on financial criteria, the introduction of on-call duty for flight crew, the introduction of a job and skills forecast management system, funding for negotiated departures, increased flexibility in working hours for ground staff and flight & cabin crews...

All staff members agreed to concessions in terms of pay (seniority bonus reduced and no salary increases in 2014) and a dual pay schedule was introduced for new recruits. Flight crews agreed to a reduction in pay and all flight personnel agreed to work more hours by taking fewer days off and/or holidays.
